Give a MATCHED GIFT to the Student Equity Fund for Scholarships

The Growing Need of Students with College Dreams:

• We are continuing to see the dire economic impact that the COVID pandemic has had on our students—students whose families were already struggling to make ends meet. We have had an additional $200,000 in student requests for scholarships and we anticipate this increased need to continue.
• Along with the greater financial need, the high school Senior Class size has been growing every year. There are now 1,000 students in the Class of 2022. Your support is needed to help these talented, hard-working students.
• Two out of three families live at or below the poverty line at Alexandria City High School. There is great need in our community, but there is also great promise. Our students are accepted to college, but they lack the funds to pay for it.
• We have seen an unprecedented 25% increase in requests for Renewal Scholarships for Titans already in college. We provide scholarships through all four years so that students can attain their college degree. This is good news because it shows that our students are staying in school, but it also shows great need among our students and the additional funds needed to keep our students in college.
• We are responding to the nationwide movement for racial equity and working hard to address the inequity and injustice many of our students face. We are improving our scholarship program to provide even more college opportunity and scholarships for Black and African-American students.
• The vast majority of our scholarships are awarded to Students of Color, but we must work even harder to meet the need and support these students in their pursuit of higher education.

We anticipate awarding an additional $200,000 in Scholarships. We can’t do that without YOUR support. Please join this effort to provide an Equitable Opportunity for ALL Students to Achieve their College Dreams.
